JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A large sailboat ran aground in Jacksonville Beach on Monday.

The Coast Guard said the captain of the 40-foot sailboat called and said the vessel was disabled and he was grounded in the shallows of Jacksonville Beach.

The owner called a private tow company but it will have to wait until the surf calms down following a rough day on Monday.

If the tow boat has to wait until the next high tide to pull it back out, that will be early Tuesday morning.
