47-year-old man killed in hit-and-run crash in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 47-year-old man from Ocala died Sunday morning after an SUV struck him on County Road 25A, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said an SUV traveling in the northbound lane of the road, north of NW 100th Pl., when its front right hit the 47-year-old who was “positioned in the area of the roadside and east shoulder.”

FHP said the SUV driver did not stop after hitting the man, who died at the scene.

Troopers did not release any details or description of the SUV that hit him and left the scene.
