ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A woman is dead after her sedan hit a van on U.S. 1 Friday evening in St. Augustine.
A report from Florida Highway Patrol said an investigation showed that the sedan was driven by a 77-year-old woman traveling eastbound across U.S. 1 just north of Lewis Point Road from a private driveway.
As the sedan was crossing U.S. 1, the van struck the driver side of the sedan at about 7:11 p.m., the report said. That’s about an hour prior to a fatal wreck on State Road 16 in St. Augustine.
St. Johns County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene due to entrapment and life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
