WAYCROSS, Ga. – Army Sargeant Kennedy Sanders will be laid to rest in Waycross on Saturday morning.
The 24-year-old was among three soldiers killed in a drone attack in Jordan in January.

News4JAX has spoken to many people who’ve described Sgt. Sanders as always laughing, smiling and courageous.
Driving into town, purple ribbons were seen in a lot of places in honor of Sanders — purple was her favorite color.
Also, on one of the fast food chain signs they posted a message to her saying “Thank you for your service.”

Waycross officials have announced that a section of Eads Street will be renamed Kennedy L. Sanders Way, and June 30 will be known as “Kennedy L. Sanders Day.”
Family, friends, community members and elected officials like Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp showed up to pay their respects at Sanders’ wake Friday.
News4JAX spoke with the family of Sgt. Sanders a few weeks ago.
“I’m just in disbelief. I’m just angry and I’m upset that I’ll never be able to see my baby again. I won’t be able to touch her, hug her,” Oneida Oliver-Sanders, Kennedy’s mom, said.
