Blustery conditions cause High Rip Current risk today, peeking ahead to Easter weekend

Wind will be a factor today, especially at the beach and on our waterways. We’re looking at sustained N/NE winds of 15-25 mph, with possible gusts of 25-35 mph. Mostly sunny skies will dominate while temperatures stay in the mid 60s, low 70s inland. Wind advisory in effect until 4:00 p.m.

Tonight, temperatures will dip into the upper 40s under mostly clear skies, winds shifting from the east 7-12 mph and not as blustery on Monday. No rain in the forecast!

Tuesday will see a warmup to feel more springlike as we approach the mid 70s. Rain returns to the region Wednesday late afternoon through Thursday.

Hazards: Rip Current risk is high Sunday through Wednesday. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions exist.

Peeking ahead to Good Friday and Easter weekend: sunny on Friday with temperatures in the low 70s, Saturday much warmer in the upper 70s, Easter Sunday sunrise at 7:16 a.m. with temperatures rising into the low 80s. No rain in the forecast for now.
