JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A boy was found shot dead in the Murray Hill area of Jacksonville Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO says at approximately 8:35 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Post Street in reference to reported gunfire. Upon arrival, the sheriff’s office says officers found the unidentified boy with “multiple” gunshot wounds.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and pronounced the boy dead.
JSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation.
JSO says at this time, the circumstances around the shooting are “unknown.”
