Brush fire shuts down County Road 214 prompts home evacuations

County Road 214 is shut down from Lexington Street to a dirt road east of Power Line Road in St. Augustine due to the brush fire, according to SJCSO.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A large brush fire near County Road 214 shut down roads and is prompting evacuations as emergency crews work to contain the flames, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

CR-214 is shut down from Lexington Street to a dirt road east of Power Line Road due to the fire, SJCSO said. 

Some homes have been evacuated in the area, SJCFR said, and the fire is 90% contained.

The fire started near the train tracks located at 1845 CR-214, and was reported around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to SJCFR.

No injuries have been reported, according to SJCFR.

Crews with the St. Johns County Fire and Rescue Department and SJCSO are on the scene.
