JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An eight-year-old boy died in a fire on Jacksonville’s Westside Thursday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The fire happened in the 6900 block of Beaver Street West, near the intersection with Sharman Street.
A grease fire on the stove spread and engulfed the house.
The boy’s grandfather was also in the home. He sustained multiple injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene at 4:37 p.m., according to their website.
