JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested and accused of sexual battery after an incident involving a client while he worked as a chiropractic assistant at a Northside Jacksonville business, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said they arrested Dion S. Gordon, 43, on Nov. 8 at Crunch Fitness on Atlantic Boulevard, following the reported incident that happened on Oct. 23 at the Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Office on Faye Road.
Police said they believe there could be additional victims.
According to Gordon’s arrest report, Gordon is charged with five counts of sexual battery as the result of five separate acts he allegedly performed on a woman he was massaging at the chiropractic business.
The arrest report also said Gordon was not supposed to be giving massages because he was only an assistant.
According to the report, the woman had been a customer of that chiropractic office for almost a year. When she arrived, she checked in, and Gordon took her back to her room.
This wasn’t her first session with him, the report stated.
However, on the day in question, the report says Gordon pulled down the waistband of her pants and began massaging her tailbone. Then, his fingers started touching her butt, and then he slid his fingers into her private part.
The report goes on to get more graphic, but News4JAX is choosing not to disclose those additional details.
Once he stopped, the victim said she got up, put on her shoes and Gordon walked up behind her, hugged her, and said “I wish we could have done more,” according to the report.
The report also states the victim said she felt nauseous while this was happening, and said “I feel like so weak because all I did was freeze like I couldn’t move and all I could do was breathe.”
When Gordon was questioned, he told police he “deeply apologized” for doing anything that made the victim feel uncomfortable. The arrest report also states he said “he’s been through a lot of trauma stuff.”
According to police, Dion also advertised himself as a massage therapist outside of the chiropractic business.
News4JAX reached out to JSO to find out why if the incident happened in October an arrest wasn’t made until November.
“You want to make sure that that you’ve got as much evidence as you can, and that you’re working towards a successful prosecution,” Tom Hackney said.
Gordon is being held on a $375,000 bond.
Court records show he was accused of domestic battery in 2020. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to five days in jail and one year of probation, which included a mental health evaluation.
