City Rescue Mission extends overnight services for cold weather in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Because of the low temperatures forecast for Friday and Saturday, the City Rescue Mission is increasing its overnight capacity for those who need shelter.

CRM is also extending its hours, allowing those who need shelter to remain in the mission until the temperature warms above 40 degrees.

“We will not turn anyone away,” said CRM executive director Paul Stasi. “We want to make sure that those without a home have a warm shelter and a hot meal.”

Guests seeking shelter can check in to CRM’s New Life Inn a 234 W. State St. in Jacksonville starting at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

All guests will receive a hot meal and will be offered access to showers and clean clothing.

The mission encourages everyone to stay inside for their safety during the cold weather.
