DCPS leaders break ground on new building at Mandarin High School that will eliminate 19 portables

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Officials with Duval County Public Schools are set to hold a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning for a brand-new building at set to be constructed at Mandarin High School.

The new building will feature culinary labs and a new medical lab and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2025.

DCPS said the new building addition will also result in the removal of 19 portables on campus.

The groundbreaking ceremony will include student performances and remarks from the school district and community leaders, as well as the ceremonial breaking of ground.
