JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fire at a church located off Gilchrist Road rendered the building unusable without renovations on Saturday, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
No one was inside the building when it caught fire, according to JFRD.
JFRD reported a fire in the 5500 block of Gilchrist Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
First Coast News crews confirmed JFRD was on scene at the Greater Grant Memorial AME Church, which is located at 5533 Gilchrist Rd. in Jacksonville.
First Coast News reached out to the church to see if any holiday services will be impacted by the fire and is waiting to hear back.
Right now, it is unclear what started the fire.
