Gas prices rise as holiday travelers hit the roads

As millions of Americans are expected to travel over the next 10 days for the holidays, gas prices are creeping back up.

For those of you who plan to hit the road Saturday or Sunday for your holiday trip, expect to pay more at the pump.

Over the past six days, gas prices have increased by 6 cents per gallon.

That’s still 17 cents less than in November, but 2 cents more than this time last year.

Attacks on oil tankers in the Red Sea have led crude prices to rise.

But those prices are only one component in a complex array of costs that determine what people actually pay at the pump.

Mild fluctuations in gas prices are expected during the holiday season.

You can visit different smartphone apps like Gas Buddy, Waze, and Google Maps to find the cheapest gas prices while on the road.
