Good Samaritans saved a drowning woman at Jax Beach

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is in critical condition after a near-drowning at Jacksonville Beach Wednesday.

Good Samaritans pulled the woman from the water and performed CPR until lifeguards go there.

Witnesses say she floated from 26th Avenue to 20th Avenue South, where she was saved.

She was unconscious, but her rescuers felt a slight pulse, they said.

Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue said the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

A red flag was out all day at the beach, warning people about dangerous ocean conditions.

Ocean Rescue says when the red flag is out, people should not go in the water, and even under regular conditions, no one should go into the ocean alone.
