How can I volunteer for the Clay County Fair?

Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Anyone who volunteers will receive a free ticket to go back and enjoy the fair!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Clay County Fair is seeking volunteers to help with the entrance gate and guest services.

The fair opens on Thursday, April 4, and goes until Sunday, April 14. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Anyone who volunteers will receive a free ticket to go back and enjoy the fair!

Volunteers signing up to work the gate would either scan or sell tickets in a 4 or 4.5-hour shift.

Ticket Scanners –  Duties could include greeting fairgoers, scanning admission tickets, or providing hand stamps for fair reentry. Being a gate greeter requires someone who is positive, courteous, and enjoys interacting with people. Most of the duties of this position are outside and will keep you on your feet, but if you would prefer to work inside and sitting down consider becoming a box office attendant.

Ticket Sellers – Duties could include greeting fairgoers processing payments/transactions, and distributing admission tickets. Being a box office attendant requires someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable handling money. These duties are performed inside, and you can sit down or stand.
