Jacksonville man, woman accused of stealing vehicles, breaking into cars in Nassau County

YULEE, Fla. – A man and woman were arrested in connection with several car break-ins and car thefts, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, the 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man, both from Jacksonville, broke into cars at the Lofts at Wildnight apartment complex. Officials said the suspects were checking for any “unlocked” cars.

Before they got arrested, the suspects stole a silver Chevrolet truck in Jacksonville and attempted to break into more cars in the Fernandina Beach area where they also stole a grey Subaru, deputies said.

According to deputies, the man attempted to flee and ended up crashing into another parked car inside the complex. Deputies said they also found at least two guns that they believe were stolen.

All stolen cars that were recovered were returned to their owners, deputies said.

Both suspects are facing several charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle and armed burglary.

Nassau County deputies said they are trying to locate a third suspect related to this incident.
