Jacksonville police searching for missing 31-year-old man

The sister of Thomas Anderson Jr., 31, reported him missing on March 6.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is still searching for a missing 31-year-old man who was reported missing by family nearly two weeks ago.

The sister of Thomas Anderson Jr., 31, told officers she hadn’t heard from her brother since January, according to a missing persons report filed on March 6. She added that it was uncommon for Anderson to go long without contacting her.

According to the report, Anderson’s sister told police he is diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She advised that Anderson has been homeless for several months, and was frequently staying at the Sulzbacher Center in downtown Jacksonville.

Police contacted the Sulzbacher Center, Jacksonville’s Mental Health Resource Center and checked local criminal databases with no luck on Anderson’s whereabouts.

Anderson’s sister told police she does not suspect foul play and said he could take care of himself.

Anderson is 5 feet 10 inches and roughly 250 pounds. Anyone who may have seen Anderson or know his whereabouts is asked to contact JSO’s non-emergency number at (904) 630-0500.
