Jacksonville USPS worker killed in crash identified by family

Family has identified the woman killed while driving a mail truck Tuesday as 40-year-old Marquite Scurry.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The woman killed in an accident while driving a mail truck Tuesday has been identified.

Family says the victim in the crash was 40-year-old Marquite Scurry. 

Scurry was working for USPS at the time of the accident on 103rd and Lamping Road where the mail truck overturned.

The Florida Highway Patrol says two other cars were involved. A 45-year-old had minor injuries and a 58-year-old also had minor injuries.

The crash caused traffic congestion around the area.

The US Postal Service sent First Coast News the following statement on the crash:

“The Postal Service is deeply saddened by the loss of our postal family member. Our condolences and thoughts go out to her family, friends, and co-workers. Local authorities continue to investigate the incident.”

“Loving, caring mother of 5 children, loves to bake and cook, she was a very hard worker. She was loved deeply by family. For donations information please visit her facebook page and family members facebook pages. Thank you for your prayers and support in our time of grief.”
