Engineer Heath J. O’Shea was 44.
O’Shea was assigned to Tanker-54 located on the Southside. JFRD said O’Shea suffered a medical emergency while on duty at Fire Station 54 Friday night.
“Despite the valiant efforts of JFRD personnel and the numerous nurses and doctors at the hospital, Engineer O’Shea passed away early this morning,” the release said. “Engineer O’Shea selflessly and honorably served the City of Jacksonville throughout his distinguished career and his passing will forever leave a void in this community.”
