COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic crash that left a man dead after he collided with a tree in Columbia County on Saturday afternoon.

Officials said the crash happened on Southeast Price Creek Road near the intersection with Southeast Sharon Lane. The man was traveling south on Price Creek Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

FHP said the vehicle continued south, leaving the west shoulder roadway and colliding with a tree. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
