
Tremayne Javares Robinson, 21, was sentenced to 15 years in Duval County court Friday morning for killing his girlfriend, Alayshia Powe who was 17, in 2019.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man, who was a teenager in 2019, has been sentenced to 15 years in Florida State Prison after being convicted of killing his girlfriend on Jacksonville’s Westside in 2019.
Tremayne Javares Robinson, 21, was sentenced to five years in Duval County court Friday morning for tampering with evidence and 15 years for manslaughter with a firearm, as the sentencings will run concurrent. Judge Jonathan D. Sacks also gave Robinson credit for time served after being in jail since 2019 as well as, handed down five years of probation following Robinson’s release.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office did not release the identity of the victim at the time of the shooting, but family members confirmed to First Coast News and identified the victim as Alayshia Powe.




Powe, who was also 17-years-old at the time of her death, was found dead on July 5, 2018, when officers responded to a shooting around 1 p.m. that day in the 9500 block of Watershed Drive South. When they arrived, police found Powe dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Victim impact statements were not read during Robinson’s sentencing but First Coast News spoke with Powe’s mother after the sentencing concluded.
