JSO says the man in his early-40s was shot in the chest, shoulder and back by an unknown white male outside of the home he was picking the female up at.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot while attempting to pick up a female from a home on Jacksonville’s Southside Tuesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO’s Sergeant Richardson says at approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the 3700 block of Bowden Circle East in reference to the man who was shot. Upon arrival, officers learned that the man in his early-40s had taken himself to a local hospital to receive medical treatment, according to Richardson.
JSO says the man was shot in the chest, shoulder and back by an unknown white male outside of the home, and that his injuries are non-life-threatening.
Richardson says detectives responded to the scene of the shooting, spoke with witnesses and searched the area for surveillance video. He says a search warrant was obtained for the home but officers “were unable to make contact with the suspect and his location is unknown at this time.”
Richardson says the sheriff’s office believes that the suspect was in the home the man was going to, but did not specify if he was believed to be in there before or after the shooting. He later told First Coast News that the suspect lives in the neighborhood where the shooting took place and that JSO was unable to make contact with the unknown female as well.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call JSO’s non-emergency number at 904-630-0500 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
