The water supply is expected to be restored once the work is complete.
Following the restoration a boil water advisory will be put in place. This is due to the potential loss of pressure causing a risk of harmful bacteria that may compromise drinking water.
The City of Palatka will be conducting bacteriological testing on the water and will notify residents once it is safe for consumption.
The City strongly recommends boiling any water intended for consumption for a minimum of three minutes before use, per state safety guidelines. Boiling the water eliminates any potentially harmful microorganisms. The water is still safe for washing and laundering.
