Shooting at Davis Park in Nocatee Saturday morning

A shooting at Davis Park in Nocatee Saturday morning has caused one person to be flown by helicopter from the park in critical condition.

NOCATEE, Fla. — This is a developing story.

One person has been flown by helicopter from Davis Park in Nocatee following a reported shooting Saturday morning, according to the St. Johns County Fire Rescue Department.

SJCFR says the unidentified person is in critical condition.

According to a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, at approximately 8:37 a.m., the shooting was an “officer-involved incident.” Police say there is no threat to the community while an investigation by the sheriff’s office’s Major Crime Unit is currently underway.

One witness told First Coast News that she heard rapid fire and about “30 to 40 shots.” The woman whose name is Nina Pickett also says that there was a baseball tournament going on around the time of the shooting.

Another witness told First Coast News that allegedly the shooter was shot or has been killed. The information from the two witnesses have not been confirmed by police but First Coast News has reached out to the sheriff’s office for more information and is waiting to hear back.
