Shooting inside home on Holly Point Drive in Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the man who was shot is in his 20s while the woman who was shot, is in her 50s.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people were shot after a dispute occurred inside of a home in the Arlington area of Jacksonville early Friday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO’s Sergeant Lloyd says around midnight, officers responded to 2800 Holly Point Dr. in reference to the two people who were shot – identified as a man in his 20s and a woman in her 50s. Upon arrival, police say both the man and woman were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lloyd says the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his chest while the woman suffered a gunshot wound to her arm. JSO says the woman has since been released from the hospital but the man remains hospitalized and is still undergoing medical treatment.

There were multiple people detained at the scene who will be interviewed, Lloyd says, as “there is no suspect description currently.” JSO says detectives were on scene interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for possible surveillance video as well. The shooting is under an ongoing investigation.
