Shooting on Jacksonville’s Southside leaves one person dead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was shot inside of a residence in the 9700 block of Tapestry Park Cir. on Jacksonville’s Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office.

Sergeant Robbie Hanson with the homicide unit says police arrived to the scene of the shooting around 1:15 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, officers found a black man in his mid-20’s with at least one gunshot wound. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

The identity of the victim was not released.

Police say it appears the victim and the shooter knew each other and that this is an isolated incident. Sergeant Hanson says all parties involved were taken into custody and are being questioned by police.
