LAWTEY, Fla. — This is a developing story.
An 11-year-old girl called 911 Tuesday morning to report three women — her grandma, mother and aunt — had been fatally shot inside of a Bradford County home, according to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.
Colonel Brad Smith tells First Coast News the three women were found in a home located at 21637 Northeast 17th Avenue in Lawtey around 2 a.m. The 11-year-old girl indicated that the shooting is a domestic incident, the sheriff’s office says.
A man found in the front yard of the home with several cuts when deputies arrived, has been identified as a suspect, according to police; his name is Johnnie Bernard Brown and he is 46-years-old. His relationship with the women shot and with the girl is unknown, as he and the girl have been taken to a local hospital for injuries, police say.
The sheriff’s office says the three women shot are a mother and her two daughters. The 11-year-old girl is the granddaughter of the mother.
