The district said in the event of an emergency parents can call the Office of School Operations at 904-390-2675, and they will assist you in making contact with the school.

In addition, Bradford County School District notified Lawtey Elementary School parents that some parts of the school lost power, and they have no phone or internet service.

School officials said the power company is working to restore service, but they don’t know when the power will be turned back on.

“All students are safe and are continuing with their daily schedules.  Parents wishing to come and check their child out are welcome to do so,” school officials wrote.

On the Dames Point Bridge, a tractor-trailer flipped on its side. Only one northbound lane of the bridge was open as of 10 a.m.

FHP said the trailer was empty, so it’s possible it was blown over by a wind gust. The driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

There were also reports of a tree down on the I-95 northbound ramp to Zoo Parkway, according to FHP.

There were widespread power outages in multiple counties as of 10 a.m.

JEA reported 69 outages and 44,738 customers without power as of 11 a.m.

At least 13,000 Clay Electric customers were without power in Clay, Columbia, Baker and Alachua counties, according to an outage map.
