JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The driver of a Polaris UTV died after the vehicle rolled over a hill on Jacksonville’s Northside Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the woman driving the UTV climbed a sand hill near Eastport Road, and once she reached the top of the hill, the UTV turned to go back down. During the turn, the UTV rolled over.
The driver and another woman were ejected from the vehicle, police said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the 173rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year, according to police.
