Why is there traffic on I-95 in St. Johns County?

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Update: The right I-95 southbound lane has opened up. Major delays persist in the area as no northbound lanes have been closed yet, traffic is backed up.

Due to a multi-vehicle crash, all Interstate 95 southbound lanes are closed near mile marker 319 in St. Johns County Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

FDOT’s traffic cameras indicate that a U-Haul truck may have been involved in the crash.

Please avoid the area if possible as major traffic congestion is expected in the area.
