The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told First Coast News that one person died at the scene in the crash that happened at 5:45 a.m. Thursday.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update: All lanes on New Kings Road at the intersection with Old Kings Road in Northwest Jacksonville, are open after a majority of them were closed for hours Thursday following a deadly crash.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says multiple lanes are closed on New Kings Road at the intersection with Old Kings Road Thursday morning due to a “crash with injuries.”
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department tells First Coast News that the crash happened at 5:45 a.m. and one person died at the scene. Another person has been taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, JFRD also told First Coast News. A JTA bus and white pickup truck were involved in the crash.
JSO says all lanes on New Kings Road are closed except for one northbound lane which remains open. In addition, Old Kings Road North at the New Kings Road intersection is closed. Police say the crash happened at 13700 New Kings Rd.
Police did not provide a timetable on when lanes will reopen but First Coast News has a crew at the scene and will provide updates as soon as they become available.
