JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville sheriff’s detective hit a woman in her late 60s who was crossing the street Wednesday night, police said.
Around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, the woman was crossing the intersection of Cassat Avenue and Plymouth Street. Police say she was not using a crosswalk, though there are multiple at this intersection.
A JSO undercover detective had a green light and was traveling through the intersection.
The detective struck the woman, who sustained “serious injuries.”
JSO says the detective immediately stopped to render aid.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
